The stiletto heel has been a big talking point recently as the fashion industry has struggled to find a new identity as people try to find more casual wear that doesn’t feature stilets.
But a new study suggests there may be a solution.
Stilettas made of polyurethane or other materials could be a more natural way to wear shoes, researchers say.
The research is a collaboration between researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Cambridge.
The team says they’ve found that the stiletta is less prone to breaking or cracking when it’s wet.
So the researchers hope to eventually create a material that can be made of different materials.
The team is also working to find out whether stiletas could be used as a type of boot for men.
But, they note, this study is just a starting point and is just an exploration.
