Smart thermostate is already a trend in the home automation industry.

It allows you not only to control your thermostant but also other smart devices, like the Smartthings thermostati and the Nest Home thermostattas, which allow users to monitor temperature and turn them on and be alerted to when the thermometers are going down.

As we move toward the IoT age, smart home security and privacy becomes more important, and this will only get more important with the advent of the next generation of smart devices.
